When Medicare was created for senior citizens and America ‘s disabled in 1965, about half of a senior’s health care spending was on doctors and the other half on hospitals.
It’s time to look beyond the budget ax to assure access to health care for all. It’s time to look for bipartisan solutions to the problems we can tackle today, and to work together for tomorrow – building a health care system that works for all Americans.
It is time to end the discrimination against people who need treatment for chemical addiction. It is time for Congress to deal with our Nation’s number one public health problem.
