The biggest kick I get is to communicate with those who are exiled from the game – in hospitals, homes, prisons – those who have seldom seen a game, who can’t travel to a game, those who are blind.
But I want people to understand that poker’s not all glamorous, it’s not all being on TV and making tons of money. It’s a hard life. It’s a lot of travel. It’s a lot of weird hours.
A lot of the players are not involved with any NHL team, so to play and travel around with the Oldtimers’ it’s a kind of gift that the players really appreciate.
The good news is that real-world hands-on conservation is alive and well and catching on across the America I travel.
If you travel to the States… they have a lot of different words than like what we use. For instance: they say ‘elevator’, we say ‘lift’ they say ‘drapes’, we say ‘curtains’ they say ‘president’, we say ‘seriously deranged git.’
