It definitely has learning a lesson about the way you’re living your life. I wouldn’t compare our movie to that, but it has a structure where it’s about a man who doesn’t appreciate all that he has and finds out at the end that life has been great and he has to enjoy that.
The hardest thing was learning to write. I was 13, and the only writing I had done was for Social Studies. It consisted of copying passages right out of the encyclopedia.
The record business is dangerous to the health of bands and individuals, which is something I’m just now learning. But it’s not dangerous in any of the ways people think it’s not that they try to make you compromise your art. That’s not the problem.
