I want to clear up a few myths about myself. People have written that I was a kindergarten teacher and a former Miss Texas, and neither is true.
My physics teacher, Thomas Miner was particularly gifted. To this day, I remember how he introduced the subject of physics. He told us we were going to learn how to deal with very simple questions such as how a body falls due to the acceleration of gravity.
Encouragement from my high school teacher Patty Hart said ‘you need to focus and theater might be your route out of here.’ I created the program, went to college and graduate school and now here I am.
I never did very well in math – I could never seem to persuade the teacher that I hadn’t meant my answers literally.
